I think paying thousands of dollars to hunt (well they usually aren't exactly hunts) an apex predator is ridiculous. Baited hunts (and canned hunts) are unethical. Letting an animal anguish for almost 2 days before you finally kill it and then beheading it, skinning it, and letting the corpse rot is very wrong. This guy comes across as an entitled jerk with too much money and confidence issues. I won't speculate beyond that.

Look at this from a US perspective. You buy a fishing license and go to a lake. There is a "fishing" zone on one side and a "no fishing" zone on the other. You throw some bread in the water and bait the line, then pull out a large bass. You take some pictures and post them. Immediately people start yelling "You killed Figgy the fish! You lured him to the other side of the lake!" That's like what happened here, from the information I have seen.
It shouldnt matter which lion he shot. A lion is a lion and no one here has ever heard of this one. You can't say that the lion was so great for tourism when no one outside of the area knew about the lion. The dentist paid his money and the guides told him where he can legally shoot a lion, so he did. Shooting a lion is dumb, but you really can't blame the guy for doing something he paid to do and thought he could do.

A lion got killed and not only that, there was some rich white guy who did it. Heck, when do chances like that come around? The lion king got wacked and we know who did it. Oh boy, what an opportunity, it comes along only once in a lifetime. Last time was when Kennedy drove that girl into the drink and she drown but what the heck, it was only a woman and he was a Kennedy so give the guy a pass. This guy needs to be strung up and shipped off to ISIS to be decapitated. What do you mean he is a dentist and has helped others? Are you insane, who do you think he is "tookie williams" the founder of the Cripes street gang and as such was responsible for the deaths of hundreds and even thousands of people including kids before finally being executed? and in FL you catch that NO fish snapper- and you will get a hefty fine and NO dinner! They were not that close see above post or Google for yourself
Why is baiting wrong? It is commonplace in the US.
And highly regulated. Some states only allow baiting for certain species and for specific periods of time. Some states ban baiting completely.
