I don't know where they are, but I surely hope they stay away....if you haven't been through one, you have no idea how destructive, and life altering a hurricane can be!

Well since no one "promised" category 6's, this throws your who argument off. I guess this heat that much of the country and the world has been experiencing this year is just a figment of our imagination too.

There was two slightly smaller storms within the last century similar to Sandy and the geological record indicates there was two in the 1400's two years apart that were within the range of Sandy.

Expect it to happen again if history is any clue.

You local climate has nothing to do with world climate, that's measured in fractions of a degree.

You mean like the total economic collapse, marshal law, gun confiscation and complete implosion of the U.S. that was supposed to happen after Obama got elected?

Yeah, I'm waiting for that too. And Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck and Ted Nugent haven't left the country either. Talk about catastrophic empty promises!

Having lived on the mid Atlantic coast all my life and dealt with a number of hurricanes face to face ... I'm not going to whine when they don't show up.

Because you are completely uninformed about why hurricanes exist and their role in nature.

I am completely informed about hurricanes and have lived through multiple and hope to never do it again.

There are always loads of dumba$$es that don't take the hurricanes seriously and end up dying because they either will not evacuate or aren't prepared.

If a hurricane hits, it is usually the least of the problems. When they hit, power is out for days and weeks on end. Ever lived in South Carolina in September with no AC?

The lack of fresh water and ice.

The difficulty of basic services such as fire, hospital, police are so overwhelmed and usually running on triple over time makes even the slightest thing much more dangerous.

The destruction to personal property. Ever seen someone who has just found out they've lost EVERYTHING? Ever seen someone who has just been told their loved one is gone?

I could go on and on but it is pretty obvious to me by your asinine comment you've never personally lived through a hurricane.

It's horrible.
