It's easy to believe that a public figure is a good person because on camera they can pretend. They are supposed to put on a public image that portrays them as good, positive people. I thought that Jared was a good guy, too.

Also one must remember it isn't "just" men, women do the same things. It's only disgusting when a man does it which is kind of bizarre in and of itself.

That depends. Women are predators. I don't get it, but we have had some pedophiles and child pornographer's tried and convicted, some of the victims were as young as 3 months old. Male or female, both are viewed with utter contempt and astonishment, rightfully so.
As for women with the 14+ age group, I don't understand the cavalier attitude towards female predators and preteen and teenage boys. Our culture can be shocking.

Fogle pled guilty first. Once prosecutors had him, Taylor's leverage was severely reduced.
Also, Fogle was swimming in money. That money very likely bought him much better legal representation than Taylor, and also allowed him to offer $100,000 per victim for treatment in dealing with the abuse. There, too, he had a lot more leverage than Taylor.
Money doesn't always help someone accused of a crime, but it usually does. Fogle essentially bought himself out of a lot of prison time.
He traveled to New York, so crossing state lines to commit a crime. He was caught with child porn that was given to him by the director of his non profit who had wired his home with hidden video cameras to film teens as young 14 getting undressed, to go swimming and such. There were no allegations of any kids actually being abused either in the videos or otherwise. That said, I'm not 100% sure that they didn't find more videos, in addition to, what the director of his non profit gave him.
Apparently he was under surveillance for 10 years and that was the extent of his charges, possessing and watching videos of teens changing into their swim suits and twice crossing state lines to pay for sex with a 16 year old prostitute who he found craigslist. Mind you in Indiana, where he is from, 16 is the age of consent. So had he slept with a 16 year at his house, everything is cool, so long as they didn't catch him paying for it.
How stoked would you be if you were one of the "victims". You had no idea that you were filmed, changing into your swim trunks, 5 years ago. Now your 19 and you just got a check for $100K as restitution for abuse you didn't even know happened. What about the prostitute? I'm sure she has a well planned investment strategy.....
Really? Taylor rigged his house with hidden camera's so that he could film young teens changing. Fogle had nothing to do with it except watch the videos Taylor gave him. The FBI and the crazy chick from Florida watched him for 10 years and that's the best they could come up with. Jared got screwed. His sentence will be reduced on appeal.
Don't get me wrong, he's a pervert but from what I've read he didn't abuse anyone, unless you consider sex with a prostitute, who's past the age of consent in Indiana but not New York, abuse.
How is he stress eating and gaining weight in jail? Do they let Jared sneak out and raid the fridge or something?
