If you have more women cops, you would see a large uptick of COPS getting beat up. Do you really think that "gangstas" respect and fear (yes fear) policewomen? They're always looking for what they can get away with. It empowers most of the real hoodlums.
Even now, If I were a policeman dealing in a situation where a physical confrontation with multiple nimrods is very possible and my call for backup is a 130 lb. Bambi, this escalates the problem. Not only do you have to watch out for yourself, but now you've got to protect her.
There's a place for women in police work, but getting sent to the most dangerous situations is not it.
Women tend to be more sensible and have less bravado than male cops, all the women cops I ever met would very respectful and well spoken. I wish more women became police officers, they do a great job.

that is absolute nonsense. You just make stuff up and expect people to believe it, really? I spent 24 years in law enforcement and I am female and guess what... I never got beat up.
No I don't think so but in Houston long ago when it was ok to use a night stick women cops would not wait for u to land the first punch you got clubbed pretty quick
In my opinion law suits for deadly force of batons are responsible for all these shootings by police ---you have painted the cop into a corner
Who wants to fight a 300 pound pro football player?
Women and men cops should be using night sticks not glocks on people that want to fight
You go figure but the lawyers won't let them
Do you have any statistics for "deadly force by baton"? ...I didn't think so
I got pulled over by a female trooper in the dead of night some years ago. When she looked in the car and saw me she said she would need back-up to proceed with writing me a ticket. So we waited... .. hours!!! for some other troopers to come off shift and come to where we were. Then it took her another 40 minutes to run the obligatory Outstanding Wants and Warrants BS. She didn't shoot me but I am still not all that kindly disposed to women doing work they can't really do.
I'm not quite sure how she got through probation if she refused to do traffic stops without backup. Sorry but that makes NO sense to me.
Good question, I would go with "no". Everybody receives the same Use of Force training. In a deadly force situation, a female Officer will fill you full of lead just as fast as a male Officer. I can think of instances where this has gone both ways though, so - overall, who knows?
Actually that is not accurate:
"Past research on police shootings, when examining officer characteristics, has focused on the officer's race, particularly when it is not the same as the race of the person shot. Data from 186 officer-involved shootings were used to examine whether race effects existed and, if so, would be eliminated or attenuated by controlling for officer gender, education, age, and history of shooting. Male officers were more likely to shoot than female officers, and college-educated officers were less likely to be involved in shootings than officers with no college education. Risk of officer-involved shooting was reduced as the officer aged. White, non-Hispanic officers were more likely to shoot than Hispanic officers; however, there was no significant difference between Hispanic and Black officers. Officers with a previous history of shooting were more than 51% as likely to shoot during the follow-up period as officers without a history of shootings" http://cjb.sagepub.com/content/35/4/505.short

I've got 2 brother in laws that were policemen. One's retired and the other is retiring soon. What I stated is basically what they've said.
There were a couple policewomen on the force who could handle any situation. Both could also bench press a house. No problem there.
What's being hired now looks like more of an attempt to find the most attractive women they can. Different story. Pure political fluff. They look great on posters.
I'd believe women would be inclined more to shoot first, than to get close enough to combat second. But I would reason that the media wouldn't be as harsh on a woman for lethal self-defense like they would a man.
Long story short, I've got less time to let a situation develop. If I see I'm losing control of the situation, I am going do what I have to in order to regain control.
