More irrational Walmart hate?

From the article:

Quote:
Wal-Mart says it is asking some stores to schedule workers for fewer hours, although it says the directive is only being given to stores that are assigning more hours than they were expected to.

The world's largest retailer said the instructions apply only to a small number of its 4,500 U.S. locations that are scheduling workers for more hours than expected.

My boyfriend worked for them, they always pulled stuff like this. Give one thing, take something else. I'll wait for an independent source.

...and your issue is with the people trying to force Walmart to pay people a living wage?

Fine. But, in the absence of an independent source, its still ridiculous for the OP to post what s/he did all the same.

Read beyond PR. Ever hear of companies not spinning bad news into good? Walmart was assigned more hours that it should have and only at a small number of stores. That warranted a press release? Not an indictment of Walmart but of the living wage people who could never understand that if a company raises wages, it is rarely philanthropy, it comes from somewhere. Guess where? Hours assigned.

Living wage is a fabricated dream. Why not just pay everyone $30per hour? Why not let everyone enjoy a nice house, good car and plenty? Living wage, another dreamt up facade to keep people dependant on handouts.

Until you have evidence to contradict the company narrative (and the only news here seems to be the company narrative, as opposed to the company responding to a leaked story/source), I'd be careful in spreading what you're spreading as its unsubstantiated gobbledygook right now.

Simple fact is, as a country, we are just plain over populated. The economic principal of supply and demand also applies to the work force. Secondly, the ones who have educated themselves are buried with loans and with no job in their respected fields, are forced to take any job offered. Finally, this country sold the idea to the sub par slackers with a GED that they deserve the same life style as the person with a MBA. And the worst part? The libs will subsidize these under achievers by taxing those who actually worked for the life style they have. Wal-Mart is just a symptom of how far backward this country has gone.

I have no idea what the problem is..Truly..WAlmart has been operating in Canada with all our rules and regulations including Minimum wage..Which I find ridiculous..that so many of my American brothers and sisters have to work for dollars less an hour and claim Government handouts to subsidize their profit margin..Something has to give..really!!

Walmart is one huge entity..sure..But then again they have profited for decades and all the while collecting welfare..because what they pay their employee's is so far below a living wage it's ridiculous!! I would also wonder about what benefit packages they even offer.or do what other Corporate folks do..keep hours low enough to deny any benefits!! It's disgusting...however at least in Canada..This Corporation can't and hasn't gotten away with that ever....They HAVE TO pay their portion of HC etc..and minimum wage varies from Province to province

In Ontario Walmart has been here for many decades..So absolutely have to abide by Canadian Standards and Regulations...Humm Why didn't they flee to the more free space south when bought and paid for Politicians could allow such hiring practices??? Because they are profiting!!

Anyway..Here's Canadian Minimum Wage and how Walmart works it throughout Provinces!!

Minimum Wage in Canada by Province

Quote:
Province General Wage More Employment Standards
Alberta $10.20 Alberta Human Services
BC $10.25 B.C. Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training
Manitoba $10.70 Manitoba Family Services and Labour
New Brunswick $10.30 New Brunswick Employment Standards
Newfoundland $10.25 Labour Relations Agency
NWT $12.50 Education, Culture and Employment
Nova Scotia $10.60 Labour and Advanced Education
Nunavut $11.00
Ontario $11.00 Ministry of Labour
PEI $10.50 Environment, Labour and Justice
Quebec $10.55 Commission des normes du travail
Saskatchewan $10.20 Saskatchewan Labour Standards
Yukon $10.86
Below is Walmart Canada..gives ranges for specific jobs.~~Wage Scales~~
