libertarianism is rooted in socialism, but socialism on the individual level. it may seem an oxymoron but it's not when you strip out the masquerade. libertarian is from french anarcho communism, they believe in small government, but contradict themselves as they value society where the individual libertarian acts as a checks and balance against individuals who don't agree with them. given that libertarians also adhere to ideologies of the original jeffersonian constitution, and do not believe any amendments are valid. Guess what, slaves are free now..

also, our libertarian candidates are the torch bearers of anti-immigration, even legal immigration. so much for social freedom....

your comment about mcdonalds reflects this. on the flipside, a true capitalist does not give a hoot about how others derive their pleasure and happiness.

It is.

Given that there are many different types of libertarians, and I in particular am a humanist and a futurist, then no.

Where do you get this drivel? What libertarian candidates would you be referring to? I've generally been for open borders for most of my life. So is Reason magazine, for example.

Now a libertarian leaning is associated with support for slavery? How old are you, sixteen, seventeen? You have some really odd misconceptions.

Hmm, my comment about McDonald's... let's see, I said first that I didn't know they had a separate menu. Then I mentioned that I, as a consumer, have not chosen that place for 20+ years. You got from that that I'm a "communist." Later I called it "horrible crap food" and you are getting from that that I'm a libertarian socialist.

McDonald's is apparently struggling a bit, and I say that's a good thing. I think they serve awful foodstuffs and consumers switching to something with more real or perceived marginal benefit sounds good to me. Economic freedom means the freedom to fail or succeed. It means the freedom to choose. I choose better, and am naturally gratified to find others are gradually doing the same. Notice there's no government intervention that I'm advocating anywhere.

See taco bell dies the opposite. At 7 AM you can get their real tacos and grillers for breakfast or the waffle tacos and breakfast burritos. I believe DelTaco food the same thing. It's just making money because some people like dinner for breakfast and breakfast for dinner. The only issue is the added holding costs and food orders.

Much like Nickelback, McDonald's breakfast is a guilty pleasure.

I probably have one of their eggwhite delights about once every two months, but it is quiet tasty to me. I like their regular egg mcmuffins and their biscuit and bagel sandwiches but those would be maybe twice a year.

I do not like their other regular burgers and such; although, they have a good french fry.

Honestly, if McDonalds disappeared from the face of the earth, I really wouldn't notice.
