Well, she was married 4 times - 2 of those to the same man. Also she had several children out of wedlock entirely. Her current husband adopted the children, I think.

Still if the government make a law that murder is banned from being a law , then would you go out and murder people or condemn people like they condemn this lady , for example , not murdering people ...... See the lady has morals , and her conscience dictate what she is able to do , then they should elect a person who has the moral of the government to do the work , not saying the government morals are corrupt or not ........See this is the legal dilemma that they want to take back to the Supreme Court to judge , whether people have a conscience or not that override the need to exercises laws which cross morals

Funny how conservatives excuse her for having babies with a bunch of different men, yet let a lower class black or hispanic do the same thing and it's all hell up in here.

She needs to resign. If you can't do you job, resign. She apparently is unable to distinguish between civil marriage (a nonreligious contract between two people) and religious marriage, so if she's that stupid, she's probably unfit for any type of employment.
Do you feel the same way about govt employees that ignore rules regarding illegals? Guns?

If this woman was sent to jail (I disagree with that - she should have been outright fired. End of story), then so should every other government employee that refuses to uphold the law.

Nobody give anyone "hell" for having lots of babies. But I do have a problem with women expecting me to support those babies.

As far as I can tell, this woman is working, and is supporting her children.

Once you allow one person to pick and choose which laws they want to follow or not follow, the laws become meaningless. If you are going to jail this lady (and I take no stance on gay marriage) but if you are going to jail her for not following the law, then there is a LONG list of politicians who need to be jailed as well...and we can start with the commander in chief. His immigration actions by ordering ICE not to prosecute illegal immigrants is exactly the same as her not issuing a marriage certificate. Exactly the same as his "decree" to issue work permits, or extended visas...he is breaking the law.

The statute for BOTH laws uses the word "shall" which in the legal world means is required, as in, not up for debate or areas of compromise.

Follow the laws as written, or change the laws, but picking and choosing at any level is wrong.
She wasn't jailed for not following the law. The only consequence she suffered for not following the law was that a district court ordered her to begin following the law. She refused. That is called contempt of court and THAT is why she was jailed.

Wrong, she does not get to pick and choose who gets a marriage license based upon her religious "beliefs". The supreme court was very clear In Obergefell V. Hodges. Same-sex couples have a fundamental right to marriage guaranteed by both the Due Process Clause and the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. That SCOTUS ruling made all state level bans unconstitutional. PERIOD.

Being Liberal means being tolerant of others... unless you disagree with them, right? Then its open season on them and you are free to mock, denigrate, shame and berate them, right? How tolerant.

Stay classy.
Wrong again! Supreme court ruling trumps all state law. Garcetti V. Ceballos:

Quote:
When a citizen enters government service, the citizen by necessity must accept certain limitations on his or her freedom...

Please explain how an elected official can be fired.

See, at the end of the day $$$$$ trumps being a left leaning liberal or an extreme right wing bible thumper. The state legislature went into a special session over her while they were out on vacation, you think that didn't cost money to bring them all in?

And you need to get a sense of humor.
They did? Do you have a link?

She isn't being required to marry someone of the same sex. So, not good analogy.
