Oh. My. Talk about having a bad day. My husband swore I was trying to give him nightmares when I showed him this story.

A farmer urinating in the field will give me nightmares about my food.

In the end, isn't it really just a snake biting another snake?

Must have been extremely painful. Lucky for him he was close enough to receive good medical care.

Interesting stat that 5,000,000 people suffer a snake bite annually, that 100,000 of them die and many thousands are left with permanent disabilities such as amputations. The anti-venon used on this man will disappear next year as the company that makes it has discontinued its manufacture.

Default One more reason to be grateful for indoor plumbing

I'd think that snakebites would be a fairly common cause of injury/death in rural India.

Bite placement may vary, though.

I'm just going to run the punch line here. You can come up with the rest of the joke on your own.
