Very clever, albeit one of those acts of cleverness that are only possible when intoxicated.

I thought this was probably fake. I have some limited experience with Raccoons (on my property), and I can tell you they are not an animal you want to try an handle in that manner. They can, and will, mess you up. No way I would try to pick one up, drunk or sober.
Makes for a funny story though.

How in the world do you stroll over to a raccoon, capture it by hand, and then proceed to force it to blow into a breathalyzer?

Only after it wakes up does it decide to defend itself?

My first thought after reading that.... was the raccoon injured?

It definitely gave me a chuckle. I can see some idiot actually trying that and losing some digits or an eye.

You don't... unless it's sick and almost dead, which is yet another reason not to be handling it.

I don't believe it either and animal abuse is not funny.

This man is too drunk to drive but is able to catch a WILD animal?

No. Never happened.

The man was charged with drunken driving. And with 'abuse of a public animal'.
