"Common sense" gun laws won't help any. California has the strictest gun control laws and had its own mass shooting a few years ago. Where are the most violent cities? They're in the cities with the strictest gun control laws. It would be unconstitutional, but who cares about that, and ineffective.

Seems to be a common thing with these mass killers.
I'm going with young white male too, based on tge demographics of Oregon and school shooters in general.

The one who ought to bow out early is the one who immediately sees a terrible tragedy as a way to further their agenda.

Because they drive through large crowds and stab the survivors when a firearm is difficult to get.

Right, or a spouse, sibling and others who have loved ones who work at this campus. Plus law enforcement who respond.

And the shooter most likely has living relatives and friends as well. It's a difficult, stressful time for probably thousands until more is known. I will hope for the best for those being air lifted to bigger hospitals, probably in Medford, Eugene, Salem or maybe even Portland.

Just wait …

Before the week is out, the Gun Nuts will come out of the woodwork informing us, "See … !!! This just shows that we still don't have enough guns on our streets, in our schools and shopping malls and theaters … We need to make it easier for anybody to get and carry any guns they want … THAT would make us all safe …"

Aside from the very few tragedy's of the nuts committing mass shootings like this, the vast majority of gun deaths/violence in the US occurs in the inner cities. Drugs, gangs, poverty, etc. have a lot to do with it.

Yep. Young white male between 18 and 25. History of mental health issues. Currently prescribed some sort of medication.

It is easier to blame the gun for it though.

I won't bet. I did hear a bit more but haven't heard that news confirmed yet. I'll say history points to what you say to be correct. That is one reason I posted today is the first day recreational use of Marijuana is legal in OR.

It seems there was a primary target, that this wasn't totally random shooting.

Still a tragedy, IMO.
