That's pretty much what it sounds like. This woman had no clue what if anything this man did, yet some people here seem to be saying it would have been okay for her to shoot and kill him regardless. That running away itself is all that's needed to find him guilty and sentence him.

It reminds me a bit of the show The Tudors (about Henry VIII), when in their trials they had a judge and a prosecutor...period! No defense at all. The prosecutor presented his case to the judge, and the judge found him guilty or not guilty and the next day he was led out to the gallows.

This is why our founding fathers crafted our system of justice, to have a trial and have a chance to defend yourself, to be presumed innocent until the jury passes judgement. I wonder how they'd feel here seeing how many want to go back to the way the King did it rather them our own Constitution, at least the parts they don't like.

During the execution scenes on the Tudors, I always looked at the bloodthirsty, cheering crowds and thought how glad I am not to have lived during a time when humans actually cheered when other humans were killed, but I'm beginning to think that isn't the case anymore.

I hope she gets the book thrown at her, it's people like her that make responsible CC holders look bad.

But, see … The vehicle had four (4) tires, plus a spare, of course …

And she may also have been trying to take out the side mirrors and radio antenna … ???

(the reincarnation of Calamity Jane … ???)

The stores dont even want their employees chasing shoplifters because of the liability. It doesnt sound like the person stealing was armed or a threat to anyone. This woman failed on every level with her actions and deserves whatever repercussions she may face as a result.

I'm in favor of gun rights but also in favor of cracking down hard on people like this.

I don't believe for one second she was aiming at the tires. That's just where the bullets happened to go flying as she pulled away on that trigger.

The objection that somebody else could get hit simply doesn't hold water. That is highly unlikely when the shooter is a skilled CCW. Your chances of drowning in a swimming pool are much greater.
Really?

The Canadian man shot early Sunday by U.S. border agents after he waved what appeared to be a handgun at them on the Ambassador Bridge was actually holding "a replica of a handgun," authorities said late Sunday.

Two agents with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) "fired their service issued weapons in response to an individual on foot, rapidly approaching the CBP officers, wielding in his hand what appeared to be a black handgun," said an email statement late Sunday by Ken Hammond Sr., a chief officer in CBP public affairs in Washington D.C.

"One officer fired three rounds, the other fired one round," according to Hammond's statement. "One round hit the subject in the arm. Investigators determined that the individual was holding a replica of a handgun."

4 rounds, one hit. Not even center mass, I might point out. These CBP officers are likely far, far more trained and skilled than your average CCW holder, yet here they are, three stray bullets whizzing around a crowded customs plaza.

I know I can find many more examples of professionals missing their mark. (NYPD, for example)

I'm sorry. I'll answer your question if you'll rephrase it in English.

Actually, unlikely.

A CCW holder that actually takes self defense seriously - or just likes the sport - will fire hundreds, if not thousands of rounds a year at the range, and will be training often.

A typical police officer on a typical PD force in a somewhat quiet town will qualify with his gun twice a year. And many don't really have interest in shooting sport at all. A typical police gun has much less use than a typical CCW holder's gun. They carry because they have to, we carry because we want to.

Now, someone on the Detroit PD police force would likely spend more time training with his gun, just because it's a crime ridden city and there's a far higher opportunity for a cop to get shot than in a quiet suburb like Bloomfield.

But the border agents at the bridge practically never have to use their weapons. It's an international crossing to Canada. So I suspect their training is almost non-existent.
