This has been happening a lot lately, all over the country. There was a post about a cop wanting to use a restroom in Starbucks and the cashier told him no. I found a whole slew of other restaurants denying cops service while on duty. Here's the link with all the links I had compiled so that I don't have to write it out again:
Your links do not prove that there is a 'war on cops'. Your three links all involved incidents in which a line employee acted inappropriately and was either disciplined or fired. There are about 245 million adults in the US and you pick the actions of three idiots as your evidence of a war on Police Officers? hmmm....
If i was the cop i would have just asked for her car tag number and what time she gets off work.LOL She should have to take her tips and buy his lunch for him ,Just another reason for me to give up on olive garden.
So you are suggesting that cops operate on the basis of petty revenge.
The title of the article should have been, "KC Olive Garden Hostess is an Idiot." This has nothing to do with any kind of war on cops. If you're using this as an excuse not to go to Olive Garden, I can think of a dozen better reasons than one hostess in one Olive Garden in one town in a a state (most likely) far away from where I live struggles with interpretation of her business' policy on guns.
Of course that's crazy, an obvious misinterpretation of policy.
However, as a "devil's advocate" argument only - who is to say that an openly armed government employee is more safe as an openly armed civilian? Why not ban both except during emergency calls? Why does an officer need a weapon while in the course of eating a meal? Accidental and negligent shooting are just as common, if not even more common, with police officers then civilians. And if I put some facts and figures on the amount of, or lack of, firearms training that police officers receive, it would be very scary indeed. The only thing this has going for them is that, at least, the illusion and appearance of safety, legality, and training is there. People don't flip out at the sight of an armed police officer and uniform, but they do obviously at an armed civilian.
Being an officer automatically paints a target on your back. If it were a civilian carrying concealed, they wouldn't automatically be a target; until they draw with intent to stop a crime being committed such as murder. Why ban both? Just saying...

I have gone into restaurants with a no gun policy. Guess what I am carrying anyway. They have no idea I am armed. No one kicks me out lol!!!

Good for you! Someone mentioned that to me in a thread I created about having the choice to carry concealed on school property. Even though I know my life is worth more, I don't want to risk my education being expelled from school when I have worked so hard to maintain top grades.

That's true. The only school I have to go to now is my sons college once a year for parents weekend. However if there was a reason to step on school grounds I would not carry. Maybe one day when I have grandkids I might end up at a school. LOL

Please point out where I typed the words, "war on cops".
I'll wait.
