My mother. I admit to reading "Cheers and Jeers" when I go visit her.

Unless they are saving money by not paying people to pose nude and this is strictly a business move to stay afloat, I find this move stupid.

They are now going to be a smaller fish in bigger waters more full of magazines. They were a unique animal. Nudity with "class", of which only few nude magazines are making them pretty unique in the industry. If they believe they will gain readership by this move, I think they are mistaken. They've had a lot of beautiful eye candy over the years, letting imagination run wild instead of having full on sex pictures leaving nothing to the imagination. That's what made them so unique.

Print media is dying so they are screwed eitherway. Why pay for a Playboy magazine(and be a recipient of silent judgment from a store clerk) when you can just go online and find an endless collection of pornography of every possible variety, photos, videos....etc.

That said, they are already branded as a nudie mag so it will continue to carry a stigma that magazines like Maxim and GQ dont carry which will hinder them quite a bit IMO.

Plus now there is one less outlet for buxom young ladies with daddy issues to gain exposure.

I understand, but Playboy over the years has turned into a niche market. There are still people out there who desire less than full-on. I think a move like this buries them in the pile with their competitors. You are correct in that print media is dying, but if you still have thoughts of continuing printing a magazine, I don't see how a move like this would make things better for them. Either tack on a more robust online version to go along with your magazine purchase (or something like that), or get rid of the print all together.

I would think that the only reason to do this is to get the magazine Placed in the regular mag racks with the likes of GQ and Maxim, not hidden away behind a black bar on the top shelf.
Seems like a prudent move to me.
Although I agree most print media is dying away.

Bill

There is no point. Plus all his so called playmate of the months all pretty much look fake and enhanced anyway. Airbrushing and surgical implants are killing that magazines so called "girl next door" look and have for some years.

Once you've seen one woman nude, you pretty much want to see em all.

If you're looking for nudity, it's everywhere anymore . No need to buy a magazine.
