In some cases, the perps think they are invincible. There are many who just don't care. I watched a few episodes of Gangland. One officer comment that even the death penalty doesn't scare said thugs. The mentality being "If I kill one person, the state can kill me. If I kill 15 more people, the state can only kill me one time." Basically, some know the consequences and don't care. Another police officer asked some gang members "where do you see yourself at age 30?". Said gang members just laughed. Some of these thugs don't expect to live past 30, so they don't mind killing someone else.

Well think about it. That poor child must now worry avout the length of time they have left, the scars of the rape will last their entire life and it will affect everyone they know.

Yes, far worse.

A child instantly killed in a crime is a horric thing, a child forced to live a death every day of their lives suffers more than 1000 times the instant death, they live it thousands of times over, so do the parents and the familiy.

No death penalty? There used to be one until liberals thought it cruel and unusual to eliminate rapists of children. Worse, this one was HIV positive.

Let some dog get run over by a car, lynching mob. Where is the outrage, the national campaigns and the intenstinal fortitude in calls for justice?

Prison time? Only in the liberal world where rehabilitation is an excuse to keep vermin alive.

It's cases like this that make me question why "cruel & unusual" punishment is outlawed.. Can't we get a little meanspirited? That dude not only messed up the mental development of a young child, but may have compromised his immune system to boot.

You just never know.

Neighbors knew Task as a quiet, normal-seeming person who lived with his wife. He worked at Hershey Lodge since 2008. The company says he passed two criminal background checks, the most recent in July.

"Pleasant, intelligent, nice guy. someone that you could confide in,"says Harrisburg neighbor Miriam Dries who has met Task and his wife. "I just know that she's distraught, she has to be distraught."

I agree, tell that to the parents of the dead child.
Yes, the boy was traumatized and will have a lot of healing to do but he at least has a chance. HIV isn't quite the automatic death sentence it once was.

This is beyond awful. They need to go to jail for life with absolutely no chance of parole. My heart aches for the little boy.
