I agree with the teacher, but I don't think this discussion is appropriate for kids that age.

While I agree with the teacher, she should not be espousing these views to children without parental consent (which she obviously wouldn't get).

She was incredibly wrong. That was not her discussion to have. She should have been teaching the content she was hired to teach. I have yet to see any middle school curriculum that covers God.

I believe "God" is a myth. Nonetheless, it is not for her to tell students that "God" is a myth, and mark them wrong if they say otherwise.

But according to the story, the test didn't say " God is a myth".

The question was whether the following statements were fact, common assertions, or opinion. And one of the sentences was There is a God.

Not her place to impose her religious or anti-religious views in any way. I disagree with teachers doing either. It's pretty easy to avoid if you try.
