People have been genetically modifying life-forms since the first seed was planted in favor of another or two plants were deliberately cross-pollinated. Birds, wind and bees have been blindly engaging in genetic modification forever. Why is it "un-natural" to some if we do it?

Well I guess if you left a salmon and an eel together long enough they might mate.
But that's doubtful. They also got injected with growth hormones.

Selective breeding and hybridization is not genetic modification, from the article
"The AquAdvantage salmon contains a growth hormone gene from the Chinook salmon and a genetic switch from the ocean pout, an eel-like creature, that keeps the transplanted gene continuously active, whereas the salmon’s own growth hormone gene is active only parts of the year. The company has said the fish can grow to market weight in 18 to 20 months, compared with 28 to 36 months for conventionally farmed salmon."
Crossing the Atlantic Salmon with a Chinook Salmon is no big deal, but neither one of those is going to mate with an eel.
Old news, Cooke Aquaculture and True North have been producing these salmon for years off the coast of Eastport Maine and all over the Bay of Fundy in Canada in pens like these.

the FDA approval is most definitely not old news - it happened yesterday.

Because gene-splicing isn't natural.
It's dishonest and disingenuous to refer to cross-pollination or selective breeding as gene-splicing.
yeah, but what other creature would you cross them with?
