Wouldn't that violate separation of church and state? And if not wouldn't it still violate taxing charitable organizations?
A Mosque does not usually qualify as a charitable organization as it usually is not an organization. Most of the smaller Mosques do not collect any money although they will allow local charities to place collection boxes at the entrances. Also individuals in need also can put in collection boxes.
I am speaking strictly of the Smaller Mosques that typically have less thab 25 people attending the prayers.
Of the 2,300+ Mosques in the USA the vast majority have attendance of less than 50 people
The Mosque in Ross ND for instance only has room for a maximum of 8 people
However, Wahhabi is trying to spread and they do have a centralized hierarchy of clergy, do have a central authority that builds Mosques. Even most of us Sunnii Muslims believe they are a deviant sect and a heresy. Although the Wahhabi do profess to be Sunni. As a Muslim I am opposed to the Wahhabi movement and will not step foot in a Mosque I suspect of having a Wahhabi influence.
I as a Muslim would like to see all Wahhabi Mosques shut down.
Okay, see people, I've been saying this in these forums for over a year--and even Muslims say it.
And it's Saudi Arabia (and the other Saudi Peninsula states) that financially support Wahhabism. There is a way to make a distinction...except that it puts the US long, long on the wrong side.

We anonymously donate to the charity of our choice.
Most Islamic Nations have replaced Zakat with a form of income and property tax, which can be calculated by the government and collected,. although that is often called Zakat, it is not.
There is no way for a third party to determine what an individuals zakat would be as you have to rely 100% on the person's word as to what they have owned in the previous year. Also what one pays in zakat and who they pay it to, is to be known only to the giver and Allaah(swt), otherwise it can not be counted as our obligatory Zakat. An exception is if we reveal what we give, in order to encourage others to give. Here in the US we can not declare what we give to charity as a tax exemption, as making it known would void it from being Zakat.
is Islam a religion...or a hate group
im still on the fence
at least im honest
We are 1.7 billion individuals each with our own concepts. There is no living central leader, there is no central organization, the is ne hierarchy of clergy as we have no ordained clergy, there is no central form of religious education
You have to look at each Muslim as an individual. We do not belong to a group called Islam, we practice Islam. Islam being the individual submission to One God(swt)
Being Muslim is very individual, none of us even know who is a Muslim we only know who claims to be a Muslim and we accept all people that say they are Muslim as being Muslim, even if we disagree with how they practice Islam.

Laying it on a little thick there IMO.
Muslims, like any religion, form groups that seek political and social influence.
Islam's ideologies should not be protected under our first amendment. Freedom of speech should not be extended towards the religion of Islam because its ideologies present a clear and present danger to our society and the world at large. Embracing Islam and allowing this ideology to grow is akin to yelling fire in a crowded theater.
I think this has to be one of the most offensive questions ever asked on CityData.
Uh oh, here comes the PC police to censor the internet! It's offensive! It's racist! It's sexist! It's discriminatory!
