A "successful" terrorist attack does not necessarily mean killing lots of people.

A "successful" attack means killing or maiming photogenic, well liked, or attractive people while many cameras are filming, or even better, broadcasting live.

If my understanding is correct, this was to be a pay-per-view event. Lots of people. Recognizable name participants. Broadcast live, with all sorts of documentation video.

While others are thinking, 'Why in tarnation would terrorists target a WWE event?'

It's got all of the key ingredients! (plus Daesh are reported to be big fans of professional wrestling)

On the other hand, terrorists could blow up some huge factory or nursing home, killing ten times more people, but it would have less impact 'as' a terrorist attack. Average people, few cameras.

Crowds + Well Known, Sympathetic, or Photogenic Victims + Cameras = Prime Terrorist Target

The Boston Marathon tragedy was a classic example.
