Columbia students and faculty gathered Wednesday night for a panel discussion on “Race, Ethnicity, and University Life.” According to the Columbia Daily Spectator, much of the commentary revolved around the idea that minorities on campus simply spend too much time being traumatized by the white-centric content of their classes.
When is all this PC crap gonna stop???
Why would you pay in upwards of $100,000 to get traumatized by reading about white people?
The article also mentions that one of her professors was always referring to African art as "Primative" and this too is punishable by riots these days I suppose.
So, based on Columbia's own conclusions, that this student is right about how teaching about Western history is "racist", they will change their own curriculums to become more inclusive of everyone's whims now.
Doesn't the college student have a CHOICE on which classes to participate in? Doesn't she have the CHOICE to choose to move to a different school?

Africa has a primitive art tradition... as does Europe. Both continents also have modern, cutting edge art.
If the professor is really too ignorant to realize that, and the student knew better, why did she not engage him in a debate which is the whole point of the University method? Instead when someone says something you consider patently false, you let yourself be traumatized and later complain? That does not sound like someone mature enough for the atmosphere of a university.
The she also obviously puts a low value on primitive art. Art is not on some chronological continuum from worst to best.
Primitive means 'first', not 'worst' and primitive art can be just as illuminating and inspiring to the human experience and condition of its creator as any art.
What this nonsense is really all about is these cry babies want to get the degree without having to work for it. They cry foul and the PC university gives them a hug and a special place to go cry and feel safe.
These kids are in for a real dope slap once they get into the real world.
Doesn't this kid know how lucky she is just to be going to college?
If I were black I wouldn't care about whitey what I would be upset about are thug criminals that paint any person of colour with a broad brush of anti social negativity and give my race a bad name.
