Wouldn't be my choice, but there's no denying she was in the thick of things back home.

Germany's Angela Merkel Time's Person of the Year - CNN.com

Quote:
In announcing the winner on NBC's "Today Show" Wednesday, Time Managing Editor Nancy Gibbs pointed to Merkel's handling of a vast array of issues -- including the European economic crisis tied to countries such as Greece, the flood of refugees into the continent from the Middle East and Africa and several deadly terrorist attacks in the region.

"No one was tested the way she was," Gibbs said. "...She has stepped up in a way that was uncharacteristic, even for her."

The last time that magazine selected a German leader as person of the year, it was a guy named Adolf and things didn't end well.

Time needs to shut it's doors. It hasn't been relevant in twenty years.

Merkle, the wench who will go down in history as the destroyer of Germany by truning it into a muslim country.

Merkel has faced unprecedented challenges for our modern times. She deserves the recognition of TIME magazine for her stunningly dubious judgement in the face of these challenges.

Merkel 'Person of the Year'??!??! More like TRAITOR OF THE YEAR. She pretty much singlehandedly opened the floodgates for Muslims to come into Europe completely unchecked and FORCED western nations to take on the heavy burden as well as the security risks of having to spend untold amounts of money, time and resources to take care of these people and to watch over them.

There was no referendum and there was no vote of any kind in any western nation where people of those countries affected could voice their concerns and speak out publicly and say NO to taking on these refugees. Thanks to Merkel and people like her, we've been guilt tripped into helping these people who at least some portion will be guaranteed to commit crime and also turn on us with terror attacks and each and everytime we'll have to go through what we did with Paris where after the attack we'll have to forgive them again and say 'Its ok, you're not all bad' over and over again.

My point is this. While I agree the majority of Muslims aren't bad or evil, any group that requires the nation that takes them on to have to waste billions of dollars, untold resources and spend countless man hours to watch over them and make sure they stay peaceful and non-violent each and every year INDEFINITELY is FAR from being a great group of people. There's NO OTHER GROUP ON THE PLANET where if you allow them to immigrate to your country you're FORCED to spend so much energy to watch over them and HOPE they don't do you harm. And THAT is why I don't want anymore Muslims in western nations and am sad that few leaders have the balls to say NO to these people and turn them back to save their own native population and preserve their countries.

Quite a strategic selection. It will definitely get people talking.

Hell, their voters picked Bernie Sanders by a landslide. That's not gonna get anyone mad or fuel conversation.

Time's (fill in the blank) Of The Year is getting to be about as relevant as the Nobel Peace Prize.

(Arafat? Gore? Obama? Really?)
