Don't bet on it. This has been a national news story for weeks, the original crime was a major national story. As were the affluenza defense and the outrage over the slap on the wrist.
The media won't let this go, if things aren't above board they will be called out for it.
I hope you're right! I had a feeling when this kid got that slap on the wrist two years ago that he would do something to screw things up for himself later. Hopefully he'll finally get what he deserves....
I want the mother charged.
I'm sure the father knew they were fleeing and his ass should be charged too.
Trash people who raised a trash murderer son.
I don't see why she wouldn't be charged. Once he violated parole, he was considered a fugitive. Because she was with him, she would be harboring a fugitive which warrants charges against her.
This kid is going to get the full 10 year sentence plus the fleeing charges.
Both parents are nuts, both have been arrested since jr. got arrested.
What makes you think that will happen? They issued a warrant for his arrest because he was out of contact with his probation officer- consider the facts here:
1) There is video of him with other kids who are drinking but I don't see any direct evidence that he is drinking
2) There is no 'automatic' provision prohibiting a Texas probationer from leaving the state.
He will probably be detained until he appears before a judge and mommy will bring in two or three attorney's with connections to the Texas court system who will make darned sure that nothing happens to him. I hate it that this kid got probation but I don't think he is going to spend 10 years in prison over what would amount in almost any other case to be a very minor violation of probation.
I agree that the only chance that this kid will get in even a small amount of trouble is because of all of the media attention & outrage this case has gotten. If this case had not made the national news, we would never have heard of this spoiled brat.
I'm watching the live press coverage of the DA right now.
The DA just said that it is an anomaly of the state juvie law that if he violated probation he will be in juvie detention until his 19th birthday, which will be April 2016. After that, he will be completely free. No probation, no record, nothing.
She also said she will try everything possible to transfer him to the adult system to carry out a more proper punishment.
Anybody else think this whole Mexico thing could be the parents' plan to get him off probation early? Just spend the next 4 months in detention and no more probation.

nope, not unless they fled AFTER he was personally served with the warrant, otherwise they both just claim they didn't know about any warrant and were on vacation - believe me, these two didn't make this trip without talking to an attorney first

Yupp, and if she used money from a joint checking account or their business checking account her husband and/or is company should also be considered accomplices since there is NO WAY the father didn't know.
If the father didn't know from the beginning he would of gone to the police to file a missing person report. If he didn't consider them missing then he knew what they were doing.
