I wish this subject were funny. Anyone who thinks taking care of our planet is something to be ignored should hop on a plane to Beijing and take a deep breathe.

Speaking of towns in Alaska, the furnished home I'm renting has mugs from all over the country. I don't know if one of the previous owners traveled a lot or just collected them. My morning coffee mug was from Chicken, Alaska.

I do care about climate change. I absolutely think its real and I think much of it is from humans. But I hold no hope of anything ever changing in this anti-intellectual society we find ourselves in. So, I've decided to hunker down, worry about me and mine and say **** it.

Good old El Nino making another showing. He's been around before! Living on the Mid-Atlantic coast I wish he would come around more often. I'm still varnishing teak outside as the temperature has been great for that.

This Christmas wasn't the first one here I have been able to wear shorts and T-shirt out on the beach and won't be the last! Other then the rain I love this weather! But then again, that rain could be snow and then we'd be royally ****ed!

Obviously El Nino cannot be the sole cause, since El Nino events happen regularly and this specific event (the North Pole going above freezing in December) has only happened once before since the beginning of measurements there.

Does this mean that the Polar Vortex will once again come for a visit?
