The powers to be will have a anom winner win, which actually int the winner and the GOV will steal the money. No way the lottery let somebody win this much

Why the excitement here?
yes, you could help alot more people and charity organizations the more you win. Whats wrong with that?

I've been playing anything I could think of: time stamps of C-D posts & other forums, text messages, etc. Last night's numbers were all under 59...there's only 59 minutes & seconds. Guess it just wasn't meant to be.

16, 19, 32, 34, 57 & 13. I was thinking about cars: 1957 Cadillac Eldorado, 1932 Ford, 1934 Ford & '16, since it's now 2016. Don't know where I could have guessed "13" from, though. Half of 26 (the # of Powerballs) is 13.

The point is....it's really difficult to win under this new matrix. And I don't believe that this will be the last time we'll score a billion-plus jackpot. I really don't. Situations like this will continue & possibly even become the norm. Now that would be interesting. A newfound billionaire winning every 2 & a half months. Cool!

Just buy one ticket and dream. Its fun to dream . but I wouldn't like having to flee my home in the cover of darkness after the win. That kind of money isn't safe ...

Can someone please educate me? What exactly has changed under the new rules and how is it different? I've heard it's even harder to win now, as if it wasn't hard enough before right..

The lottery is so random that most people who win the jackpot won it by quick pick. The real test that people should focus on is what they should do IF they win. If I lived in a state where lottery winners could remain anonymous and if I won, I would remain anonymous in a heartbeat.

Just curious... if you won, would you want to remain anonymous?

Is it a wise investment?
Many of the people who join Powerball are the people who can least afford to lose; and all but one or two will lose. The liberal side of me says this is a morally bankrupt way to levy taxes.

Wise investment? No. If you want to spend $2 to have a nice dream for a couple of days, that is reasonable for entertainment. Buying multiple tickets doesn't increase your chances of wining, so it is silly to spend $100 for tickets. If the number gods want you to win, you only need one ticket. If it isn't your turn, it doesn't matter how many tickets you buy, you aren't going to win.
They sure did - added extra numbers to the roster so the range is even greater. In fact, there was some kind of statistic which said that you are 17 times more likely to be elected Pres of the United States, than you are to win said new Powerball lottery.
