OTTAWA — TransCanada said on Wednesday that it would seek $15 billion in damages over the Obama administration’s decision to cancel the company’s Keystone XL pipeline project.

The company is taking the unusual step of suing through the North American Free Trade Agreement, calling the decision “arbitrary and unjustified.” The Canadian business also filed a lawsuit in Houston asking that the decision be overturned.

Hopefully, that will go nowhere.

There was nothing 'arbitrary' about the decision.

Nope, Soros knew exactly how important it was to his railroad holdings and gave his marching orders to Obama.

Once again big government aiding the big business interests aligned with the right politicians.

I guess it's better for the trains to be moving the oil even as they continue to crash.

Oil is trading at $32, there's no need for that nasty bitumen crap from Canada, the only thing the pipeline would do is raise the price of gas in the midwest (and yes, that actually is in the Keystone XL business plan as being one of their goals) Keystone Weirdonomics Means Gas Prices Won

Agreed. Buffet the owns lots of rail stocks as well. Pipeline is far safer and environmentally friendly than rail.

Even more oxymoronic when one considers this little factoid:

How clean is our ‘dirty’ oil? You’d be surprised.

Apparently it is less dirty and presents less of an environmental impact hazard than we were all led to believe.

Your "continue" to crash is from two years ago . . . .

This whole mess is years out of date.

TransCanada is likely trying this an attempted Cash Grab. Else they are heading for broke, too.

Tar Sand Oil is going under. (no loss, there).

But no fan of the Oil trains, either . . . but those empty tank cars are now parked for Miles and Miles of remote track.

Stuff is all relics from the last Century. Really we just need to be done with Oil and take US off Oil for Ground Transportation. We could end all imported Oil.
