Texas armed standoff ends after 15 years

Note that the guy holed up on his own property though not on public land. Still, I don't think that I would want to live like this for 14 years. So paranoid and crazy.

TRINIDAD, Texas – After almost 15 years, what is believed to be the longest armed standoff in American history quietly came to a peaceful close earlier this week.

John Joe Gray was arrested in 1999 for assaulting a state trooper during a traffic stop. Gray said it was his God-given right to carry the pistol he had that day, without a concealed handgun license. When the trooper tried to arrest him, Gray got into a scuffle with the officer and bit him.

I somehow doubt that a guy like that would open a letter from the courthouse.

I don't think the man is a loony he knew he would lose in court so he didn't go to court. Judges most of the time side with the police unless you are rich and can afford high end attorney.
