I had a similar thing happen with my 3 year old daughter who unlatched the gate to a swimming pool with a long stick and jumped into he deep end of the pool. Luckily a small boy saw this an rescued her without my knowledge until after the fact. Whew!

I can believe this story!

I used to have a neighbor who let their toddler ride an ATV alone! He couldn't have been older than 2, and they live just a couple houses off a busy street. They'd be sitting in the front yard and the kid was riding a block away, out of their sight. If he had decided to go one block further that way, or came back and kept going past his house for just 10 seconds, he could have easily been killed. Some people should not have children!
