It's not a tip. My "born again" brother-in-law does that kind of s*** and my sister, who was a waitress in her teens, goes back into a restaurant and leaves a proper tip. He thinks a religious tract and a dollar or two two covers it. Not quite.

.
I didn't say it was okay to leave it as a replacement for a tip. I said I don't care if someone wants to leave religious tracts places.

I get what you're saying. I think that behavior is tacky.
That being said, I don't think tips are expected at this particular fast food joint.

I mean no offense....
but why is it so hard for some (not all, of course) deeply religious people to realize how rude and arrogant they are being when passing out cards with bible verses on them? I get that a person might feel they're only doing "god's will," but are they not conscious enough of the world around them to realize that everybody doesn't feel the same way they do? And just because somebody is of a different faith or not religious at all, they don't need to be "shown the true path?"
Can you imagine if a Muslim-American man were to leave a koran verse as a tip in a restaurant?! Some people in this country would be ready to burn him alive.
In my opinion, "tolerance" means not only the ability to be respectful of other's beliefs, but not pushing your own beliefs onto others, with the thought that you're "helping" them.

Why is it so hard for others to realize that people have the right to pass around information whether its about religion, sports, politics or any other matter? Again, if you don't like it, toss it.

seems like you completely missed the point I was trying to make.

I think this is much ado about nothing.
Just because it serves burgers doesn't make it fast food. The kid's title was very specifically "server" , and table service server implies tip is expected.
Would being tricked by a fake $20 be the same as being tricked by a fake $100? For those who do this, which leads more souls to Christ?
