Killeen...I'm not surprised. The school system over there is a swirling toilet.

Another relatively similar case:

Texas student suspended, faces alternative school for sharing inhaler with asthmatic friend

Meanwhile, these girls received a 5 day suspension.

Seems fair, right?

I don't understand why the parents of these kids are not standing up to the schools. Such as the case of the girl being told to kneel down because her dress was considered to be too short.

I wonder how many of theses policies are mandated by the school districts attorney and insurance carrier?

What has happened to America? This is a country of idiots. One smart kid takes decisive action because his teacher is too effing stupid to act.

Good thing the idiot didn't email me, she'd STILL be waiting.

That teacher should be fired.

It's time for the professional world to completely disregard K-12 records. The end.

They didn't get a 5 day suspension. That was a rumor that the media is reporting as fact. District issued a press release that the punishment is much more significant than that. (But districts can never release details, though the news release implies criminal charges leading to expulsion are being sought.)

You have to do the right thing. When 9/11 happened, the office workers were told to go back to work, that it was OK. Better to get the heck out and risk the job than your life when you know something is wrong. That kid was brave and deserves accolades.
