But the Feds are cracking down in a very cowardly way. Waiting three weeks, making a few arrests, etc.
The Feds have not gone all in yet and put this stand off to an end but rather made a few arrests yesterday because:
*Those making decisions at the Federal level WANTED the arrests yesterday to result in the death not of one of the militia members but rather were hoping on a death of at least one member of the Federal team that made the arrests.
Simply because, if or when that happens, the Feds will then (within a matter of a few hours) execute an already drafted plan to go in and kill every single militia member at the stand off. Using the death of a Federal agent as the default reason to massacre the militia members.
Well, hopefully, they'll target all the Internet "patriots" next, starting with the genius who's figured out their evil plan.
The Bundys, are they the infamous Texan family of moochers? What are the doing in Oregon, is the mooching good there?
That's the infamous Bundy family all right, but they're from Nevada not Texas. In Texas there's not much federal land to use as your own, so ranchers actually have to own their land.
- Arrest takes them by surprise on an open road
- The Arrest nets all their leaders
- Arrest occurs after the militia guys had a chance to air their views
- Only one person killed
Somebody needs a promotion.
Yep - very smooth. My guess is they went to great lengths not to kill anyone. How these "leaders" did not see this coming is beyond comprehension.
Now - let the conspiracy theorists have their say.

Plans such as that are neither evil or good. Assuming that I take a moral position on either the actions of the government or militia members is innacurate. Both parties have an agenda, and a self serving agenda by nature. Once again, I seek not to label either agenda as good or bad, nor claim that either side is right. However, one side (government) has the power and force to ultimately win and the legal platform and use of the media to convince the masses they are good and right. Thus becoming more powerful in the process.

As Linda mentioned, they probably just got over confident. They had attended and even hosted a series of meetings and press conference they attended with out incident. This just built their confidence. Also, I have a strong suspiscion that all of them loved the lime light.
Telling one of them that he could not participate in the next public event and needed to wait back at the boring Wild Life refuge was probably very hard. So, they all piled into a truck (my bet is that they did not even take multiple vehicles or send a "patrol" down the road to see if there was anything unusual going on), then got slammed dunked.
Over-confident plus dumb IMO. They obviously thought that the feds were too afraid of them to act.
LEO played this out perfectly IMO. They let the militia idiots believe they were untouchable for several weeks allowing them to become more brazen and complacent with their travel on and off the wildlife reserve. LEO waited for the leaders to travel a good distance away from the nutjob jamboree and rounded them all up in a simple traffic stop that ended with no injured cops or innocent bystanders. The death of one wacko fundamentalist Mormon terrorist is a nice bonus.
It is also pretty obvious that "Daddy swore an oath" Ritzheimer turned rat for the Feds. He leaves the area just hours before the arrests took place and was able to spend time with his family before turning himself in to LEO in Arizona.

Totally agree. There were probably FBI profilers involved during the whole occupation who recommended that law enforcement just wait them out with the intention that their egos and attention-seeking would result in them becoming overconfident. They were able to move very freely several times between the Refuge and Burns, with no confrontation, and probably didn't think twice about driving 100 miles to John Day yesterday.
Just looking at this guy's photo wants to make me vomit. He is everything I do not want America to stand for, yet he thinks he is doing 'muricah proud. Him and his cronies are a bunch of stupid thugs.
