Depends if he had opportunity. He already had a gun pointed at him. Your asking a hypothetical question. However if he did I would say he was at a tactical disadvantage and would be stupid to fight in that situation.
To be fair, he wasn't aware that a cop was behind him. It was just bad luck on his part. Now if he looked behind him and continued his robbery, then he would really be the "dumbest robber of the year".

Honestly the thread has nothing to do with gun rights. The thread is about a idiotic criminal who was situationally unaware of a cop sitting directly behind him as he is committing a robbery. The act itself is serious. The stupidity of the criminal is hilarious.
Read this comment from the YouTube video, but the driver may have been waiting at a light or something. While he puts the car in park, he's probably pressing on his brakes as he is searching for his wallet. The cop observed that and acted accordingly.
