A lawsuit has been filed against Starbucks requesting class action status for cheating customers out of 25% of their drinks by under filling cups.
The suit claims that since 2009 Starbucks employees had short filled drinks due to the high cost of milk.

Not surprised, not surprised at all!

Good. While Starbucks may think the lawsuits have no merit, at least it brings attention to this issue.

How would it save any money? Customers can go over to a self-help stand where they have napkins, stir sticks and milk in pitchers, and fill the cups to the brim. That's what I do.

I don't even know what a Latte is. I always get a 16oz. Grande sized Iced Coffee. This has not been a problem with Grande Iced coffees I have gotten at more than 60 Starbucks. They always fill it to the brim, which is actually kind of annoying because when I put the straw in, sometimes it leaks out the top hole and I have to wipe off the top.

If Starbucks advertised their drinks as 14 oz. and delivered 16 oz., these same "attorneys" would be suing them for providing too many calories and making people fat.

LOL...I think it's time for that much-used-of-late term..."first world problem".

The things people spend their time worrying about........

When I go to a local coffee house (City Brew, not Starbucks. NEVER Starbucks!) they always ask if I want my coffee cup a little short to allow room for milk or cream. Since I drink my coffee black, I say "No." and they fill it full.
Darn. I do not qualify for the "class action". Now I won't get my $12.13!
That is what is usually left for the "class members" after the lawyers get their $12.13 million.

I was never under the impression that lattes need more added milk, nor have I ever needed to add more milk (and I like my coffee tasting more like milk/sugar/flavor and less like coffee). Lattes aren't like a cup of plain coffee, it's a more specialized, more expensive flavored drink that comes as is and is completely ready to drink. There's a specialized formula used to make lattes, and one to make cappuccinos. It's a certain balance of steamed milk/milk foam and espresso. They are not underfilling the cups to "leave room for milk" they're doing it because they're cheap.

Now that I think about it, often my lattes ARE underfilled, but they often ask if I want whipped cream and I always say no... maybe they leave it a little low for the whip? But if I say no, then you'd think they'd fill it all the way...

For how expensive Starbucks' lattes are, they should not be underfilling the cups, that's the bottom line for me.
