If you stop to think about it, every day that you wake up alive is a birthday of sorts. Once you reach those later years, you become thankful that you're still breathing & able to smell the roses. At least I do, anyway.

I agree. This is especially true if you have lost people or went through a major crisis of any sort (or more then one) You learn to really enjoy when things are going well, Knowing things can change in life quickly, Be it good or bad.
