Yes. Doctors, nurses, health care professionals, family members should be more aware, observant, caring, helpful. Society should not look down on women who are having a difficult time being a new mother, society should not stigmatize mental health, the medical profession should take women's health issues more seriously, more research should be done on PPD, if frogs had wings they wouldn't bump their bums on the ground.

Women always get off easy for this. That TX woman who drowned all of her kids in the tub got off easy. men would get death for these kinds of crimes (as they should), but women get wrist slaps.

This is not a woman vs man issue. This is an issue about postpartum psychosis, which affects postnatal women. I'm not understanding why so many men are claiming that men would "get death" for these types of crimes when there's no way that a man could commit a crime while experiencing postpartum psychosis.

This women should minimum get 20 years in prison. 8 is just a slap in the face to the kids that were poisoned . Postpartum depression is a lame excuse for murder.

But a man could do something similar while having some other kind of mental disorder or depression or whatever and still be pretty much burned at the stake.

Have you researched your claim or are you just assuming?
While the insanity plea seldom is successful there have been as many men use it successfully as women. Do us a favor and find a significant number of SIMILAR cases, similar crime and similar supported documented mental illness, where men were burned compared to women.
