This'll become overblown like Ebola. I'll continue to do my own thing without a damn care in the world about antibiotic resistant bacteria. For the rest of you, continue living in fear.

The overuse of antibiotics helped contribute to this. Many doctors are pretty quick to write out a anti-biotics prescription for even viruses just as a placebo. The farming and meat industry pumps their livestock full of antibiotics as well. What worries me is that due to human intervention the bacteria will evolve quicker than our immune system ability to fight it.

None of those are going to fight a bacterial infection. Please do not suggest such things.

The helicopter-mom that demands antibiotics for her hot-house-flower-child's every sneeze (and then forcing him to consume probiotics) is almost as guilty as the doctor that acquiesces to her demands. The doctor should know better than to over-prescribe anything.

Sorry but doctors have most of the blame here. They are the ones who prescribe antibiotics. The common person cant go buy them without a prescription.

That's what happens when you import millions of people from countries that sell antibiotics in convenience stores.

Why don't you become a lab tech and see what it takes. Also it takes a ton of $$$$ and a lot of these pharmaceutical companies don't want to spend it on that. I bet you don't even have a clue what it takes to develop a new drug that doesn't have really bad side effects.
