Never watched Katie Couric when she was a news anchor--she never appealed to me. I did watch her talk show and really liked that. Probably the most distressing about news coverage today is that so many people who cover it are only interested in their own agenda, and so few people take the time to form their own opinions. It is unfortunate that some/many will think that if Katie thinks this, then it must be so. She is not the only one to have slanted views and portray them as facts.

I think that's true about the popular ones and the ones we hear about because they take polarizing topics and then create a biased piece of mental junk-food for the people that already think that way.

Michael Moore is the master of that.

The sad part is that there are valid points to issues like fracking for example but when you try to sexy things up and insert half-truths and bias you lose trust.

Just more proof that our 4th estate has become a 5th column.

"Couric didn't do anything specifically deceptive"

Really??? What's your definition of a bald faced lie?

Every show on TV, it doesn't matter if its reality TV, a game show, or the news, is produced and edited to create ratings because ratings increase commercial value which equals dollars. Inserting a few seconds of silence is pretty tame compared to a lot of editing that goes on. Forgive me if I suspect this particular outrage has some alternative motive.

It's par for the course for Katie Couric, the "Global Anchor" at Yahoo.

Yahoo makes MSNBC look like LewRockwell.com

Wasn't Katie the same journalist who asked Sarah Palin that hard question of what she read?

To hear sleazy Couric talk about guns is akin to hearing me talk about rocket science.

You expected her to be dishonest and twist the story to fit her agenda?!?
That's funny, so did I.
