A Bronx man faces manslaughter charges after beating his wife’s would-be rapist to death.
According to reports, a 51 year old woman was hit over the head with a chair inside her Washington Avenue apartment at about 10:15pm Monday (May 30). The attacker, 43-year-old Earl Nash, illegally entered the building and forcibly removed her clothes. The woman fought him off and was able to dial her husband, 61-year-old Mamadou Diallo who was outside and rushed in.
Surveillance video shows Nash with no shirt on after the attack and Diallo getting off the elevator where his wife screamed “That’s him!” At this time, Diallo, a taxi driver, attacked Nash with a tire iron. Nash was taken to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition where he later died from his injuries. Hour before the attack Nash can be seen lurking in the hallways.
Hopefully the judge will give him a light sentence or something as simple as community service. I'd think that most guys would probably do the same in an intensely stressful and emotional situation such as this.
Why was he arrested? He did a good thing for not only his wife but the community as a whole. Now young women, grandmothers, and little girls can walk around safely with one less rapist in their neighborhood.
“The police had to charge Diallo with the manslaughter case because the bottom line was the danger was already over,” said legal expert David Schwartz.
Bull! The danger was over because Diallo charged in with his tire iron, thereby ending the danger.

Man, I really hope he gets off.
Yes, I get it. At the time he attacked the rapist, his wife was in no immediate danger. But what would any man on planet earth do if he were to come home and find his wife had been sexually assaulted, and the offender was within striking distance?

Assault/rape is not the same as killing her. The husband should have just castrated the rapist before calling the police.

So we have a serial rapist. Well, at least he's been rehabilitated.
