Should the parents be held liable as well? Not sure myself they can't help what their air-head daughter does. Same with Snap chat. I don't see how they can be held liable for what stupid people do. It would be like suing a fast food chain for making you fat.

No, the girl is 19 and a legal adult. Why should her parents be held liable?

Parents legally responsible- no. Morally responsible for raising a self-absorbed fool- probably.

I didn't read the whole thread so I don't know if this has been posted yet or not, but here's the other side of the story. The tone of the conversation on pages 7 & 8 seems the same as it was on pages 1 & 2 so I'm thinking maybe no-one has seen this yet.

Thank you for posting this link. It does appear there is more to this story. We live in such a cruel world of
witch hunts and half truths and I did something I tell my peers I would never do.I reacted and formed a negative opinion before knowing the whole story,. This "new" world of instant information can really warp a persons ability to think rationally and I am ashamed of myself.

I did wonder how they could have survived plowing into a car while going 100 mph. I remember an incident in Orange County where a car going that fast hit a tree and ripped the car in half. Four teens were killed and the wreckage was so mangled that initially people thought it was two cars.

Forensics will get to the bottom of it.

Thanks for providing this........I was in a car crash 65 mph can do a lot of damage. I am with the dad if they were doing over 100 they would all be dead. Sounds like the girl was being responsible by having her phone in her purse.

If the phone was in the girl's purse as the dad says, wouldn't it be easy enough to verify whether or not she was taking a selfie at the time of the crash?
