Cute story.

Little Boy Sneaks Into Neighbor's Garage to Hug Their Dog - ABC News

Quote:
The homeowner, Hollie Mallet, noticed the adorable encounter when scrolling through the security footage in early-May and posted the video to her Facebook page in hopes of identifying her pup’s newfound pal. The video now has nearly 2 million views.

“We had an underground fence set up so my dog can roam freely so she just stays out, but doesn’t go in the road,” Mallet told ABC News. “We had noticed once or twice the little boy would stop at the end of the driveway and he would bring a ball and throw it to her.

“One day, we were going through the footage and I told my husband, ‘You’ve got to see this,’ and he [Josh] came in and gave him a quick hug, and we wanted to find out who he was,” she recalled. “We live in small town so everyone pretty much knows everyone, but we don’t know all the neighborhood kids because we don’t have small children anymore.”

What if what?

What if space aliens came down and abducted the boy while he was in the garage??

I heard that the little boy had a dog he loved very much that died. His family hadn't yet decided to get him another one.

This story literally took my breath away. What a precious child and precious dog.

Yes, it has a couple of odd bits. For example, why did the dog owners leave their garage door open? Yes, I'm skeptical. But it's still a great story!

I think it's crazy, but leaving garage doors open all day long is very common in my neighborhood.

Hopefully they find the kid and tell him he can come by legit and not have to run up like he did. I'm sure the dog was fine and the kid and dog had developed a rapport when he was coming by and throwing the ball, but running at a dog like that is not the smartest thing in the world.

Cute story, but it could have taken a very different turn and turned the story into another one of where animals are put down due to negligent parenting. But...cute story.
