Just hitting the news, Multiple shots fired at Love Field right at the entrance to baggage/check in.
First reports of 1 person injured. Possible Domestic Violence.
From Fox 4 News:
Eyewitnesses said the man police shot was threatening an officer with a rock.

A passenger who was in the baggage claim area at the time said there was a back-and-forth between the officer and the wounded individual.

“I did not see what the man did, I just heard him using profanity and he was stepping toward the police officer,” Susan Haydel told CNN.

Bringing a rock to a gunfight? Not surprised it ended the way it did.

Apparently, he had the rocks handy because he was in the middle of attacking the woman and his children (I read he's the Father) by throwing rocks at them and/or the vehicle they were in.

How big were the rocks that the officer had no choice but to shoot him? Geeze.

I suppose they could have picked up their own rocks and used those instead...

If you assault an officer you can usually expect that your day isn't going to end well.

Are you so tough that you are going to walk toward someone throwing rocks at you?
If you are perhaps you should become an officer and do the job better than them.

Doesn't really matter how big it was. Throwing a rock and hitting someone in the head can and will cause serious injury, maybe even death. Maybe you're willing to get pummeled without shooting him, but most people I know probably wouldn't. It's called self-defense, and LEO's have as much right to it as anyone else.

A rock is a deadly weapon and can be lethal if big enough. I had a co worker who was struck by a rock ejected from under the tread of a crane. It shattered his humerus/upper arm.
