You have to be careful with the wording.

Bees aren't more dangerous than alligators, they're just more plentiful and due to many more encounters they rack up a higher actual body count.

It's like citing highway deaths in cars going 150mph vs. cars going 70mph. Which is more dangerous? Which is just more common?
