What a bunch of pansies we have become.
I think the parents are really trying to help the young man. Different maybe but overboard???

My first thought was, oh, now he can smoke pot all night and won't stink up the house.
Seriously, I have no young children, but I support parents who are trying to do whatever works for them.

I'm all for it. Hell, I wish I could put a tent up and sleep out in our common lawn, but I bet the cops here would give me too much ****.

The issue is not that he's being somehowe mistreated by being banished to a tent. The issue is that if this is their idea of dealing with criminal issues (and that's what stealing is) then they're probably looking at a son who is not going to stop his criminal activities anytime soon.

To the cheers of "Good for them! At least they're doing something!", the point is to do something effective, not to do just anything for the sake of giving you onlookers something to cheer about.
Sadly your versed words are falling upon blind eyes.

I get what you are saying....

Seems that "house rules" trump the effective results idea.

I've little doubt that these parents are concerned for their child ....I'm still miffed how this backyard sequester is going to improve the boy.....
