Convicted Robber Throws His Feces at Judge Who Sentences Him to 40 Years in Prison - Inside Edition

Quote:
A defendant threw a stinking fit inside an Ohio courtroom after a judge sentenced him Wednesday to 40 years in prison.

“Did you just give me 40 years? Sir? You just gave 40 years. Well guess what?”

And with that, Ricky Hand threw a blob of his own feces at the bench and ended up hitting his own defense lawyer, WHIO-TV reported.

LOL - It does pose a qestion about Court Security though. Don't Courts have big burly guards standing over suspects and watching them.

Nasty story. Guess its the ultimate insult doing that. People also do things like this more often then one would think sadly outside places like courtrooms. Seen dookie on the floor on the subway, and it happens at hotels as well, housekeeping staff go to the room and find walls, floors damaged from this. Not a daily occurance but more often one would expect.

I may skip breakfast now.

Judges do not want the security people in the court room hovering over the defendants. In federal court, the US Marshal Deputies are suppose to fit in as much as possible. Yes, they can certainly make it to the defendant in time to keep him from rushing the judge and physically assaulting him, but slinging poop is another problem altogether and and act that can be done fairly swiftly. By the time the security personnel realized what was happening I'm sure it was too late.

I think he came in armed and was going to toss it in any scenario... "What! I'm getting off Scott-free on a technicality...well this bud's for you, Your Honor!" <fling>
