Before clicking on the link, I was skeptical and thought that this was another "hoax" where the customer hand-wrote something on the receipt and then blamed the server/restaurant. But, seeing that "Fatty" is typed on the receipt, this was clearly done by the server. Shame on him, but bravo to the owner for taking the actions that he did. But the server being too embarrassed to accept a gift voucher and return to the restaurant? I don't see how that can be the case given how much he's willingly put his story/face out in the media. Give me a break.
Again news media and online community trying to make more out of this then it is. No different then a server who is rude to a customer should be fired and the employee was fired end of story happens all the time. People are going to make jokes if you can't take jokes about being fat don't be fat that's life.

Jokes about being fat? This is so silly. Story happened in Warwick, RI. I'm not familiar with that town. I do know that in my city restaurants come and go very quickly, clients can be very fickle. They might forgive an iffy meal but they won't forgive bad service. Writing "Fatty" on a client's ticket is bad service. It's stupid.
what's with these kids of owners being *******s? remember the del taco dude?
