Drunks can do some amazing things.

Here's a story with a much less tragic ending:

I know a guy who was so alcoholic at one time that a bunch of his friends pulled an intervention on him and drove him to the state mental hospital, about 100 miles away. They all ganged up on him, threw him into someone's car, and held him down in the back seat while they driver did his job. And they were all completely sober when they did the intervention.

They all stood and watched him getting admitted and they all saw him walk into a locked-down ward before they left the hospital and drove straight back to town. According to the admittance official, every door on the ward was also locked, not just the single main door to the ward. So he was locked down twice over.

When they arrived back in town, they found him in his favorite bar, buying a round for the derelicts. From the barfly's accounts, the guy had been there long enough to down several beers before buying the round for them all.

And he was next to unconscious when they drove him to the hospital, so drunk that he could no longer stand without assistance. He was dragged into the hospital, held up on either side by sober friends.

To this day, no one knows how he did it, and he was too drunk to remember how he did it himself.

She was probably texting and/or taking selfies while driving. Don't jump to conclusions!
