Actually he did not say that so your title is a misrepresentation. He said "I am sorry for your problem. Have you thought about buying the supplies with the money you earn?"

And just because the low IQ website you linked to titled it that way does not make it any less of a misrepresentation.

Except for a transposition of the article 'the' and 'that' I don't see much of a difference in the two sentences, so what am I missing here? or has the OP edited the title?
