Given the importance of the crocodile in the story "Peter Pan," it's hard to see how Disney can completely remove that particular character from the theme park long-term. But for the short term I can see why'd they'd attempt it.

Disney: Let's let predatory wild animals have access to our human visitors, what could go wrong?

Something goes wrong.

Disney: Alligators? What Alligators?

We should ban all sorts of things. Do they have a "Cars" ride because those kill more per day than gators have killed in the past 100 years I'd imagine.

I see, so there must be loose lions roaming central Florida that might attack guests, right?

IF you think this is silly that a place that markets itself to kids and their families decides not to flaunt the idea of aligators being part of the imagery in their park...

nevermind.

Yes it is because of marketing but it's still stupid but like everything else these days it will be all but forgotten in a few weeks when the latest national incident happens.

Why is it stupid? They want to make sure they keep making money and don't offend their guests. Having someone running around in gator suit right about now might be counter productive to that.
