To be fair, the Buddhists have been making remarkably similar statements for over a thousand years; to the effect that what is "out there" is not really separable from what is "in here." Stated differently, there is indeed a mind underlying creation, only its not any god's -- its ours.

I happen to enjoy little thought experiments like these once in a while. Reality is rather narrowly defined even among all humans who've ever lived, in my opinion.

Here are some other random physicists:

Buckaroo Banzai
See this rock? It's solid matter, right? But in point of fact, the
solid parts of this rock, the neutrons, quarks, protons, and electrons
comprise only about one quadrillionth of its total volume.

The rest of this rock is actually only empty space. So, back in
1937, Professor Hikita here and Dr. Emilio Lizardo figured that if
solid matter was mostly empty space, then a person should be able
to discover a way to travel inside things.
I wonder if Dr. Kaku has a contract negotiation coming up with the Discovery Channel.

Musk said a few weeks ago that he believes the chance we are not living in a simulation is one in billions.

Probably, but there is actual research going on at MIT trying to find direct evidence to support the hypothesis. The younger woman on the panel here describes it:
