Probably the same sorry SOB's that kept me up half the night shooting fireworks... what are you supposed to do when you are trying to get some sleep and it sounds like World War III outside?

Ridiculous.

Keep buying the fireworks... keep blowing your hands off... you won't get my pity.
Nor mine.

Every moron injured setting off fireworks is one less idiot doing it next year.
Once had a neighborhood kid who enjoyed throwing cherry bombs and ash cans at people's front doors on July 4. One year he didn't throw it quick enough, lost the index and middle finger. Some guys who knew what a jerk off he was would flash him the piece sign whenever they saw him, just to p**s him off. Pretty funny. Karma is a b***h.

ETA: I have lived in places where they were illegal. There still were people who felt the need to "express their freedom" by lighting a couple of fireworks, but it NEVER sounded, literally, like a war zone.
In the Bronx 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after 4th of July you could hear fireworks going all night long. That was 30 years ago. I can only assume it is worse now.

You know, regardless of ones stance on fireworks, this kid didn't light fireworks, which to me would be taking things out of a package and lighting the designed fuse and watching them go. He made a bomb and lit it off in a residential neighborhood. It's no different than if he had gotten black powder and done it. He's lucky the police don't press charges against him.

That is terribly sad. I wish his parents had taught him better, sounds like some neglect was going on.

My dad taught me about all kinds of safety since I was a kid and he would not have tolerated an experiment like that behind our house. What in the heck were they thinking? Some kind of serious lack of impulse control, basic physics and common sense.

Too bad he didn't blow his wang off. That means at some point, this kid might still reproduce and bring more idiots into society.

But at least now he might be able to teach his children the consequences of their actions. If he hadn't of blown himself up, it could have been him and his 10 kids setting off bombs all over town.

Tragic. Hopefully this serves to deter others from such foolishness. Prayers for no loss of sight and for an otherwise speedy recovery.
