No doubt this story can be spun by both sides:

- Drunken punks intrude on private property, refuse to leave. Confrontation with owner occurs or

- Social elite deems men in private car on a public street to be "undesirables". He then orders them to leave "his" neighborhood. They refuse.

Navy official Karnig Ohannessian recorded threatening young men with gun - CBS News

My bet is that the idiot with a gun is going to loose this one as I have a feeling that the youths are telling the truth.

I think you are 100% right. Sadly, Washington is full of the type.

Even worse for the idiot is the whole thing is caught on tape and if the kids were from the general area, then they are probably also from high income families with pull.

My bet is that this gets followed up on.

Guns are absolutely the best way to escalate a situation. No need to be reasonable when you feel omnipotent with yer guns.

"Punk teenagers wanna get an attitude with me?! I'll point a gun at 'em! that'll teach 'em!"

Well said. This guy was clearly empowered by alot of things: His senior position, his neighborhood, and his pistol all came together to create a big "Aw shucks".

Why didn't he just phone the police like any normal person and not esculate the situation by confronting the youths.

It's not worth being killed or injured over or killing or injuring someone else over and it's not worth losing your job over, let the police take the flack, it's what they are paid to do.

I get the feeling this scene was nothing new to his wife, who was trying to get him back into the house.
