Sounds like a task for drones. Send up a couple to hover over them and make phony Ibex bleats to draw the lions to them while they're sleeping in their wee tents.
Maybe word of Cecil's untimely death by the dentist was broadcast through the jungle fe-LINE and the lions had their retribution for him.

It's a bit odd to me how the lions are defended and celebrated by those who threaten humans with "declawing" for wanting to defend themselves against intruders.
